Springtime in Indiana

I should really split this up into two posts. However, I am currently on a cleaning streak and don't want to sit in one spot for too long, for fear I will lose my motivation! So, here goes:
Easter this year, was interesting. Too say the least. Most of it, was my fault. I put everything off until the last minute and that made for some harried moments. Next year, I will plan more wisely. Poor planning is very uncharacteristic of me and I regret that I let it get to far out of hand. Also, it rained. And rained. And rained. In fact, we got rain for over a week straight. Almost thirteen inches to be exact. That makes for some wet, soggy egg hunts. It makes stir crazy children and parents, too.

I took a drive down to our favorite park, the Newburgh Locks and Dam. At normal water level, as the tugboats pass through the dam, you can barely see the tops of them. But as you can tell, the water is up so high, they cannot pass through at all. I also included a picture of a fence (well, at least the top of it). This is another spot where we walk up to the almost 7 foot high fence and watch the boats and barges. The water is up so far, that you can only see the top foot of the fence. It is crazy how high the river is. I think they said it is the worst flooding we have had since 1997, or maybe before that.

But, today, the blue sky is here and the sun is out. I have almost forgotten what they look like! So I will hold on to the beauty it brings and cherish it while it's here, because who knows how long it will stay! Springtime in Indiana!
